Crackspacers be afraid, check out this article on Star-Telegram that contemplates what could happen when people get bored with it and kids (although Myspace says their demographic is 18-34) move on to the next "cool" thing. I have to admit Myspace is pretty retarded, of course thats why I’m on it. But with 61+ Million registered users, 37+Million unique users per month, 16 million daily unique logins, Myspace may not be worried right now. But that can change in an instant if something new and cooler blows them out of the water. A redesign of the site could help them tremendouly to start, it’s just awfull but thats just one component of its retardedness. More stats in the Media Kit posted here.
"It got too fake," Stoker said. "You have all these people saying they want to be your friend. It’s just a waste of time."
The idea of the enormously popular MySpace falling out of
favor among teens might seem unlikely. It’s the third most-visited Web
site in the country after Yahoo and Google, according to the Web
traffic firm Alexa. But at its core, MySpace is just another popular hangout, a
digital version of the local mall, coffee shop or music store. And like
those locales, its image can change as it grows more popular and its
younger users could abandon it for the next new thing.Full Article. Myspace metoric growth may be it’s own undoing.
