McDonalds Hoax Presentation

Have The Yes Men done it again? A Hoax presentation from what attendees thought to be "McDonald’s Interactive" brought the house
down at the UK Serious Games Summit, The conference was for game developers to discuss games that are intended to have positive social
outcomes. The pranksters — widely believed to have been the notorious
Yes Men — gave an increasingly provocative, funny and weird deadpan power point presentation focused
on the way that McD’s corporate practices contribute to global climate
change. [via boingboing]

Undeniably one of the best pranks of 2006 so far.

Dear blogmaster,
Because there have been many rumors and speculations, I would like to clarify that it was my group, the Collectif de Résistance aux Macdos, that is at the base of the “McDonald’s Interactive” story that you have published on your site. The event described in it did take place, and it is due to us. You can find this excellent story explaining it:

The CRM is a collective of mostly current and some former McDonald’s employees worldwide who reject this work in all ways, but have or had no choice. We are allied with other associations of precarious workers worldwide.
It would very much please the CRM if you could update your informations. The point of the action was not to fool people, not to say “ha ha we are clever”, but to educate about the issues that are much larger than anything, larger than our own fight (against McDonald’s on the level of working), but that our own fight is part of, as every fight is.
Cordially,
Jean-Michel Ferré
