Zed Shaw Smack Down on the Rails Community
Even if you are not a developer the post titled “Rails is a Ghetto”, from Zed Shaw the creator of Mongrel, is hilariously entertaining. If you are not familiar with Zed Shaw, he is basically a God in the Ruby on Rails Community. Below are a few samples from”Rails is a Ghetto” where he rants on the Rails community, startups and companies he has worked for.
“The best part about ripping on these guys though is this:
If they have a blog, speak at conferences, publish papers, or write books then they are public figures, just like me.This means that thanks to Larry Flynt I can stab them in the ear verbally, insult them, question their sexual orientation, and say anything that’s true and they just have to take it. Their only recourse is to write their pathetic little rebuttals in their stupid little blogs.”“Then there’s the social network idiots. They all have a social network plus something *#@!*#* stupid to sell, but of course no MBA can actually code so they come running to me. I swear if someone says they’re starting a social network I’m gonna beat them with the heal of my shoe.”

Below are a couple tidbits. I respect this guy Zed Shaw, he tells it how it is and is not afraid to stand up and start a fire. I cannot judge whether he is right or wrong, but cheers to him for speaking his mind without fear or hesitation.
